Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Teaching classes with safe and effective exercise designed to meet their fitness goals
Instruct and monitor all members in the dance room and ensure that members are conducting their workouts in a safe manner
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Follow all CDC and DOH guidelines as they apply to the program
- Conduct specific fitness class
- Supervise members to ensure safety. Advise of safety issues as needed
- Record attendance and give it to the Fitness Director/Aquatics Director
- Keep current on Group Fitness Instructor Certification and CPR certifications
- Enforce and follow staff policies (Code of Conduct)
- Report any injuries and fill out accident reports when needed
- Begin and end class on time
- Attend scheduled staff meetings
- Responsible to find coverage for class before canceling
- Notify Fitness Coordinator, VP of Health and Fitness, Membership Department and Members before canceling any class
- Notify members of any absences
- Responsible to call/email members when canceling class
- Act as a positive role model and positive voice for the YMCA
- Make sure anything that is used for class is put back and/or locked away
- Place dirty towels in basket and bring down to fitness center
Qualifications
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Specific knowledge of Group Fitness Instruction
Group Fitness Instructor Certification from NCCA accredited organization or YMCA preferred
Aerobic and certified in CPR
6 months to 1 year experience
Salary : $30 - $45
