Rockland Trust seeks a skilled Commercial Portfolio Manager to oversee the evaluation and management of commercial loan portfolios.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess strong credit analysis skills, with the ability to independently evaluate and manage a portfolio of loans for both commercial and industrial clients. They will work closely with lending officers to develop and implement sound credit strategies, ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate obligor risk ratings on new and existing relationships, ensuring quality and soundness for credit transactions.
- Manage the approval and commitment process, including review of loan documents and supporting exhibits, to ensure accuracy and compliance with Credit Policy.
- Monitor current loans and credit lines to ensure compliance with terms and proactively manage risk exposure and compliance with Credit Policy for assigned portfolio.
- Facilitate borrower financial reporting submissions to Bank and evaluate financial performance to determine an appropriate risk rating.
- Identify early client risk exposure, detect volatile industries and markets, and recommend adjustments to credit strategies as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of credit file updates and collaborate in coordinating pre-closing activities.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of credit with Loan Officers, proactively managing credit risk and exposure for assigned portfolio.
- Collaborate with lending management to interact with customers and potential customers on credit or risk-related matters.
Requirements
- Formal credit training and prior commercial credit analysis/portfolio manager experience.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or equivalent experience.
