Rockler seeks a VP of Human Resources to provide executive-level leadership, strategy and guidance to the HR function and overall people management. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a critical role that will set strategy and direction for all aspects of the HR function as a key strategic partner to all areas within the company. The VP of HR oversees all HR duties and responsibilities, including talent acquisition and development, employee relations, rewards, compliance and employment law. This role is instrumental in cultivating a strong culture where employees thrive and contribute to the company’s values and mission. This position requires a deep understanding of both the operational and strategic facets of human resources along with strong leadership and communication skills.

Rockler seeks a VP of Human Resources to provide executive-level leadership, strategy and guidance to the HR function and overall people management. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a critical role that will set strategy and direction for all aspects of the HR function as a key strategic partner to all areas within the company. The VP of HR oversees all HR duties and responsibilities, including talent acquisition and development, employee relations, rewards, compliance and employment law. This position requires a deep understanding of both the operational and strategic facets of human resources along with strong leadership and communication skills.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Lead the strategic development and implementation of HR initiatives while actively engaging in day-to-day operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and effective on-going execution.
- Key partner to the executive team and each functional area
- Provide guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assist employees with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
- Drive organizational change initiatives to enhance leadership development, career development and employee engagement.
- Develop and implement comprehensive talent acquisition strategies to support on-going needs in all areas of the business.
- Oversee the performance management process, which includes designing effective training as well as coaching leaders and employees on effective communication and employee management tools.
- Oversee the annual benefit review process, including providing feedback regarding design or policy changes and oversee administration of all benefit programs.
- Lead talent management initiatives including succession planning, talent management, performance management, and employee engagement activities.
- Devise and administer competitive compensation, benefits, and employee incentive programs in support of company objectives.
- Lead the evaluation of employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. Conduct assessments to ensure alignment with company values, legal requirements and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations and company policies.
- Enhance internal training to ensure continued employee development in support of our customers and management of employees.
- Additional projects or duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Ability to partner, influence and build relationships within the organization.
- Proven ability to ensure execution of not only the day-to-day HR functions but also providing company leadership in support of business strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance and industry best practices.
- SHRM (or equivalent) certification (preferred).
