Engineer I - Mechanical Essential Functions and Requirements

1. Provide support as required to ensure that a safe and healthful environment is provided for all employees and compliance to all government regulations and corporate policies are maintained.
2. Develop expertise with respect to the Facilities manufacturing equipment and processes in order to support manufacturing initiatives that meet customer and business requirements.
3. Provide technical expertise with regards to mechanical design of components, equipment, and processes through the utilization of engineering principles: commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.
4. Develop designs that comply with company policies for cGMP.
5. Participate in and/or provide coordination and leadership for projects. This includes continuous or process improvement initiatives, equipment modifications, and equipment installation projects.
6. Provide technical expertise in regards to equipment design and component design to ensure functionality and reliability.
7. Assist with the development of machine centerlines and good run settings.
8. Provide technical support for the commercialization of new products, processes or systems for any of the Facilities manufacturing processes as required.
9. Coordinate the fabrication, operation, installation, and/or repair of equipment and processes.
10. Participate in, and lead as appropriate, continuous improvement activities as required with respect to safety, quality, productivity and cost initiatives.
11. Provide support to purchasing by providing equipment specifications and/or requirements, resolve equipment or parts issues, and realize cost savings opportunities with equipment vendors or parts suppliers.
12. Must be flexible in work schedule to support engineering projects as needed. This requires a commitment to the hours necessary to complete projects on time.
13. Provide the technical skills necessary to bring design projects from concept to fully functional processes and/or equipment.

Education, Skills and Experience Required

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME); or equivalent demonstrable skills and aptitude with relevant experience.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficient skills and experience utilizing Auto Cad.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project.
• Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate utilizing written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Must be well organized with the ability to support and participate in multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
• Ability to develop training materials and effectively train adult learners.
• Capacity to enhance education and technical skills.
• Ability to obtain a passport and to travel domestically and internationally.

Grade 10

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent education with three (3) years of experience; or equivalent demonstrable skills and aptitude with six (6) years of relevant experience.
