Depending on the residency assignment, the Ministry Resident may report to a Lead Pastor, NextGen Pastor, Adult Discipleship Minister, Production Director, or Ministry Leader. The expected work week is 29 (max) hours on average, which can be accomplished from a combination of working in the RPC office, home, or other remote location.
Main Function
The Resident position at RPC will have a combination of assisting, observing, and education. Resident will assist the designated ministry area(s) based on residency assignment (children's, students, adults, worship, production, and/or pastoral responsibilities) in weekly programming, observe in various ministry areas of the church, and be involved in specific Academy classes on a yearly basis.
I. ASSIST: Semester Rotation in 2 Ministry Areas
(will be dependent on individual residency assignment)
ADULT DISCIPLESHIP
- Attend biweekly Adult Discipleship Team meetings
- Attend regular department meetings
- Help with preparation and execution of Primary and Secondary Anchors as requested
- Assist with other non-anchor events as requested and time allows
RPC ACADEMY & INTERN PROGRAM
- Support the Academy programming by preparing materials, meeting administrative needs, supporting instructors, hosting classes
- Support Academy participants with initial inquiries, registration, and overall experience
- Participate in one or more Academy Pathways
- Assist the 10:50 Coordinator on other opportunities for collaboration
NEXTGEN
- Attend regular NextGen Team meetings
- Attend regular department meetings
- Help with preparation and execution of Primary and Secondary Anchors as requested
- Assist with other non-anchor events as requested and time allows
STUDENT MINISTRY
Tier 1: Discipleship Outreach
- Partner with para-church organizations (e.g., YoungLife, FCA, etc.)
- Disciple students within RockPointe Student Ministry
Tier 2: Attending weekly programming meetings
- Sunday Wednesday programming
- Monday Staff meetings
- Any necessary ministry events
LEAD PASTORS
- Attend ministerial and operational meetings as assigned
- Help with preparation and execution of support department emphases
- Make outreach and in reach contacts and visits as assigned
- Additional strategic meetings and tasks as assigned (strategy, denominations, platforms, cohorts, etc.)
PRODUCTION
- Assist with prep and execution of RPC events where AVL support is needed
- Collaborate with worship staff on church-wide events/projects
- Collaborate with worship and creative staff on post-production content
- Attend weekly service planning meetings
II. OBSERVE: Through side-by-side experiences
- Accompany or assist Local Mission Minister with ministry partner check-in
- Observe Membership Matters and Dinner with the Pastor
- Observe thru participation in 1st and 3rd Tuesday All-Staff Meetings as well as any other relevant meetings
III. LEARN: Through Education
- Participate in 2 required Academy classes per year based on scope and sequence
- Participate in Resident weekly gatherings for education and community
- Weekly one on ones and discipleship with mentors and lead pastoral staff
IV. LEAD: Through discipleship
- Disciple Interns under guidance of supervisor
- Lead a small event, study, or program
V. Additional Staff Duties
- Participate in at least one non-anchor Local Missions trip or event
- Serve as a pastoral presence on Sunday mornings whenever you do not have online responsibilities
- Participate in Sunday Morning Worship
- Participate in other staff development opportunities outside of Academy offerings
