Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and be able to translate business requirements into innovative design solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the user experience and ensure that our products meet the highest standards of usability and functionality.
Responsibilities
· Designs, creates, controls, and maintains engineering documents used as tools to effectively transfer information (blueprints, forms, etc.) from customer to manufacturing
· Designs new products and modifies existing products to meet customer specifications in a cost effective manner within manufacturing capabilities.
· Develops material and labor cost quotations by researching vendors, product cost history, processes, and gathering information from plant personnel
· Creates and maintains databases for product histories (materials, timestudy, attributes)
· Creates and maintains bill of material and routing documentation
· Performs engineering calculations necessary to estimate material requirements, shrink allowances, and trigonometric and geometric relationships
· Develops purchase requests for specialty tooling or materials
· Visits customer and vendor sites
· Actively participates in TQM projects

Qualifications
· 2 years technical trade school in mechanical design
· Knowledge of Auto Cad 12 or 13
· Manufacturing background with understanding of manufacturing processes.
· Self-motivated and Independent thinker, able to adapt and refine as needed
· Organization, able to initiate and track multiple jobs at once.
· Focus, able to follow a task through to completion, tie up loose ends.
· Accuracy, attention to detail is imperative to this position
· Proficient in Excel, Word, and various document programs (Adobe)
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Bill of Materials
· Able to perform job functions with little supervision
· Works well with multiple work groups such as engineering, suppliers, shop personnel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
