Position Summary
Rockwall County EMS is seeking a dedicated and experienced EMS Director to lead and manage all aspects of the organization. The EMS Director will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and foster a culture of excellence in pre-hospital care. This position is responsible for strategic planning, staff management, budgeting, and maintaining positive relationships with community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operations Management
o Provide leadership and direction for all EMS operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
o Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and protocols.
o Oversee the organization’s compliance with all state, federal, and local EMS regulations and standards.
o Serve as a liaison between Rockwall County EMS and other healthcare providers, emergency response agencies, and community organizations.
Staff Development & Management
o Work alongside our Director of Administration in all related tasks
o Recruit, hire, and retain a highly qualified team of EMS personnel.
o Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for staff.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations and address personnel issues effectively..
Strategic Planning
o Develop long-term plans for growth and enhancement of EMS services.
o Analyze call volume and community needs to optimize resource allocation.
o Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of EMS innovation.
Community Engagement
o Represent Rockwall County EMS at community events, meetings, and public forums.
o Foster positive relationships with Rockwall County residents, elected officials, and partner organizations.
o Promote public education and awareness regarding EMS services and safety.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in EMS management or a similar leadership role.
o Current certification or licensure as a Paramedic in Texas

o In-depth knowledge of EMS operations, regulations, and clinical practices.
o Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
