SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to perform housekeeping and grounds care duties for the facilities of the County.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs housekeeping duties by sweeping, mopping, buffing and vacuuming floors, dusting, cleaning, polishing and disinfecting walls, blinds and doors, dusting ceiling fixtures and furniture and emptying trash bins.
SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory or budget responsibility.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to understand and exchange information with supervisors and co-workers when receiving assignments and instructions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy with the public and other County departments.
- Follow safe work practices including workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to use building cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works in an office, warehouse, shop, vehicle and outdoors. There is occasional exposure to environmental factors, however physical hazards occur daily. Health and safety conditions are low. Protective equipment includes back belt, hard hat, safety glasses and gloves. Standing, fine dexterity, walking, reaching, handling, vision, balancing, bending, hearing, twisting and talking are constantly required. Occasionally, lifting and carrying between 25-50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling, and crouching are required.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Additional background and fingerprinting may be required.
