Information about the program:
By participating in this program, MultiCare agrees to offer a full-time MA-Resident Trainee position.
If offered a position into the training program, you will be employed as a full time MA-Resident. Upon completion of the training program and passing of the certification exam, you will have the opportunity to apply for a transfer to a position as a Medical Assistant-Certified.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant-Resident (MA-Resident) is a full-time MultiCare employee while also participating as a student in a Medical Assistant training programthat is supported/recognized by MultiCare.The MA-Resident may perform duties under the direction of a mentor/preceptor in alignment with the topics that the MA-Resident has studied or practiced in the Medical Assistant training program.
In addition, the MA-Resident will have an attestation for Medical Assistant-Registered that is filed with the Department of Health that allows independent practice of identified tasks.
The Medical Assistant- Registration will be:
Filed after approximately 4-6 weeks of schooling is completed. Signed by a healthcare practitioner endorsing him or her to perform specific tasks authorized in RCW 18.360.050(4). Valid as long as the MA-Resident is continuously employed by the same health care practitioner, clinic or group practice. The MA-Resident will shadow staff until the MA-Registration application is submitted

- CPR/BLS card not required at time of hire. To be obtained within 2-4weeks of hire date (via MultiCare)
- Must be enrolled in a recognized Medical Assistant training program that is in partnership with MultiCare (This enrollment will be done via MultiCare and our partnership with a company)
By participating in this program, MultiCare agrees to offer a full-time MA-Resident Trainee position.
If offered a position into the training program, you will be employed as a full time MA-Resident. Upon completion of the training program and passing of the certification exam, you will have the opportunity to apply for a transfer to a position as a Medical Assistant-Certified.
- Earn a paycheck while getting paid training by MultiCare.
- There will be a variety of MA positions in various clinics located in the greater Spokane area.
- The course is: 4.5-5 months. There are no extended breaks.
- Monday-Friday… two days clinic, 3 days in school. Basically the hours are 8am-5pm
- If offered a position, the candidate will sign a two year agreement to remain employed with MultiCare in a Medical Assistant role.
- M.A. Registration certification: This will be started during the program. MultiCare will cover the cost and will be worked on/obtained via the Training Program and in collaboration with MultiCare after your start date.
- CPR Card: If you do not have a current C.P.R. card, that is acceptable. This will need to be done within 2-4 weeks of hire date. MultiCare will cover the cost and this will be worked on/obtained via MultiCare after your start date.
