POSITION SUMMARY : This position will participate in installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing the district's network equipment, including infrastructure, wireless technology, network hardware and software, and performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Troubleshoot network hardware, software, and network routing problems. Analyze the problem, identify the cause, and implement a timely solution. Notifies supervisor of any problems and assures a solution is implemented.
- Configure and install all districtwide network equipment and infrastructure. Provide installation and maintenance for time clocks.
- Provides advanced level network support for building Computer Support Specialists, Site-Based Technicians and other district technical staff.
- Install / Maintain / Support the switches and routers for data network as needed for the continued growth and changing technology needs.
- Assists with building and district-wide network documentation.
- Provides assistance with data wiring.
- Participates in department technology meetings to solve district-wide technical problems.
- Track industry trends by monitoring industry sites and reviewing technical journals in order to remain current with hardware and software technology.
