What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cosmetologist position at Rockwood Retirement Communities?
Rockwood Retirement Communities is looking to hire a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Part-time Cosmetologist at our Rockwood at Whitworth Campus. This individual will provide great customer service to residents, families, and team members.
Pay Range: $18-20 per hour for training. Pay will then be commission based (65%) after training.
Shift Type: Part-time, 2-3 days per week. No weekends required.
Job Functions:
- Provide a first-class experience to our residents who live in our assisted living [KH2] and memory care building by demonstrating superior knowledge in hair and nail services
- Converse and build relationships with residents, resident family members and team members to provide the best person-centered care for each resident.
- Work with residents, resident families and nursing team to schedule all appointments
- Ensure proper sanitation procedures are completed before and after every appointment, as required by Washington State Board of Cosmetology
- Maintain salon/backbar
- Maintain supply of towels/linens
- Attend all in-services and mandatory meetings
- Preferred experience with senior population
Requirements:
- Expertise in hair and nail services, including shampoo sets, perms, and natural manicures, with 5 years of experience preferred.
- Cosmetologist license
- Organizational skills
- Strong time management skills
- Comfortable using a POS computer system and experienced using Microsoft Outlook and salon software
- Ability to work well with other departments and in team settings
- Ability to take initiative and grow clientele communicating with nursing team and resident family members
