What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shower/Bath Aide NAC (South Hill Campus) position at Rockwood Retirement Communities?
Rockwood South Hill is looking for compassionate and caring Shower/Bath Aide NAC who is interested in making a difference in the lives of our residents and their families. This individual would provide direct bathing care, assisting the resident to reach and maintain the highest level of hygiene as practical for each individual. The individual would also provide personal care to residents as indicated by residents care plan, assisting residents in tub bathing, showering or sponge bathing as indicated on care plan, and perform activities of daily living for each assigned resident according to the nursing care plan.
Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
Shift Type: Monday - Friday | 6am -2pm
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performs showers or baths for resident in accordance with care plans and established policies and procedures.
- Create/maintain/change or update shower schedules – updates/changes may be needed corresponding to census changes and level of care for residents.
- Ensures resident’s shower preferences are accommodated.
- Assists with nail care (fingernails and toe nails) on non-diabetic residents.
- Assists with tracking the condition of the resident’s skin. Reports any presence of pressure areas, skin breakdown or skin tears to nurse and supervisor
- Coordinates with the Facility Salon to ensure shower schedules, to avoid giving a shower with a brand-new hairdo after a salon visit.
- ADLs (activities of daily living such as dressing, toileting, nail, and oral care)
- Assists with the feeding of residents
- Measuring and recording intake and output
- Weigh residents
- Assists in turning and positioning residents
- Proper transfer techniques
- Protects the organization's value by keeping patient information confidential
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment
- Helps keep residents' rooms clean and supplied
Requirements:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (NAC) License
- CPR/ First Aid certified
