Job Description
We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team in South Roxana, IL. This position will be located in a refinery setting.
- The CWI will perform visual and non-destructive examinations of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment according to API standards and ASME codes.
- Reports documenting equipment condition will be submitted to the client in a technically accurate manner.
- The CWI will provide the client with technical recommendations for repair, re-rating, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by the client.
- Technical input will be provided to the client on welding and metallurgical issues as needed.
- The CWI will provide guidance on non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
- A full commitment to safety practices and participation in site initiatives is expected.
- Travel may be required based on business needs.
Requirements
- 5-10 years' experience or 2 years of on-site experience.
- Familiarity with API 653, 510, or 570 is an asset.
- An in-depth understanding of CWI and ASME standards is necessary.
- Experience working directly with petrochemical facility engineers is preferred.
