Job Title : Director of Data Science, AI, and Data Engineering

Summary :

We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Director to lead our Data Science, AI, and Data Engineering Consulting Practice. This pivotal role is responsible for driving the growth of our consulting practice by developing and delivering transformative data solutions for diverse clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical depth, proven leadership skills, and extensive consulting experience, with a demonstrable track record of designing and implementing AI-driven solutions that generate measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities :

Practice Leadership & Strategy :

Define and execute the strategic vision for the Data Science, AI, and Data Engineering consulting practice, focusing on achieving revenue growth, high client satisfaction, and robust team development.

Develop processes, methodologies, and best practices to enhance project delivery, operational efficiency, and overall quality of the consulting practice.

Client Engagement & Solution Delivery :

Serve as a primary point of contact for senior-level clients, providing strategic advisory on data-driven transformation, AI adoption, and data engineering solutions to address specific business challenges.

Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, AI-powered solutions and advanced analytics models, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry best practices.

Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and contribute to business development efforts that support practice growth and profitability.

Team Leadership & Development :

Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of high-performing data scientists, AI / ML engineers, and data engineers.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

Technical & Innovation Leadership :

Stay abreast of industry trends in AI, machine learning, and data engineering to drive innovation within the practice.

Represent the organization in conferences, webinars, and publications to strengthen brand presence and showcase expertise.

Compliance & Data Governance :

Ensure all solutions adhere to data privacy laws, compliance regulations, and data governance best practices, maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and security.

Key Qualifications :

Education : Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.

Experience : 10 years of experience in data science, AI, or data engineering, with at least 5 years in a consulting or client-facing leadership role.

Technical Expertise :

Advanced proficiency in machine learning, data engineering, data platforms, and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark, OpenAI).

Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL / ELT processes, Data Modeling, Data architecture, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Azure, AWS).

Knowledge of MLOps and DataOps practices and tools, ensuring smooth and scalable deployment of models and data workflows.

Familiarity with data visualization, data catalog, data modeling and data observability tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Montecarlo, Tableau, Power BI, Alation) and advanced analytics techniques.

Leadership Skills :

Demonstrated experience in managing and developing cross-functional teams, with the ability to foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.

Communication Skills :

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a talent for explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Business Acumen :

Strong business and industry knowledge, with the ability to understand client needs nd translate them into impactful data-driven solutions.

Project Management :

Experience managing large, complex projects from conception to delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and client expectations.

Preferred Qualifications :

Certifications : Relevant certifications in data science, AI, cloud platforms, or project management (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Cloud Certified – Professional Data Engineer, PMP).

Industry Knowledge

Experience in a specific industry (e.g., finance, healthcare, retail) is a plus.

Thought Leadership : Proven track record of published work, speaking engagements, or contributions to industry groups on data science and AI topics.
