SUMMARY
Responsible for the installation, evaluation and maintenance of computer systems and selected software on property.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs selected software, maintaining proper security levels and access rights.
- Ensures the quality of systems operations in all areas of the casino by communicating with all levels of systems users and offering direction and assistance as needed.
- Coordinates work flow to ensure effective overall operations in the I.T. Department.
- Consults with system users on specific project requirements, designating priority and scheduling project.
- Modifies phone switch programming, adding and deleting information as needed.
- Routinely inspects all supported equipment, identifying potential problems and repairing same, as needed.
- Facilitates the flow of information throughout the I.T. Department by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
- Ensures a maximum level of service and satisfaction to all systems users is achieved and maintained.
- Conducts an inventory of all systems on property and maintains accurate records by updating information as needed.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, email and all aspects of the Microsoft NT and Novell Network Administration in order to perform job effectively.
- Contacts vendors with regard to specific software, hardware or phone problems, as needed or as requested by the Director IT.
- Programs and writes procedures to assist in the day-to-day functioning of the network.
- All other duties as assigned.
REPORTING LINE
You will report directly to the Supervisor and then the Director of IT.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have excellent communication skills, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times.
- The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.
- The ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations
- Proven experience providing high level of guest service
- The ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide
- The ability to read, write, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- The availability to work all shifts.
- The ability to work in a fast–paced environment and stressful situations.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.
- The ability to verify the right to work in the United States.
EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Technical degree in computer science or related area, two to four years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for prolonged periods of time. Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, sit, climb, balance. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and infrequently lift and/or move up to one hundred pounds. Constant use of hearing, speech, vision (including distinguishing between shades of color), radios, and tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
