Position: Mowing Crew Leader
Location: Rocky Gardens Landscape Group, LLC - Beloit, Ohio
Reports To: Operations Manager
Job Overview:
We are looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our lawn care team as a Mowing Crew Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for performing lawn mowing, trimming, and general landscaping tasks for both residential and commercial properties. You will work closely with a team to ensure the grounds are maintained to the highest standard while providing excellent customer service and adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing on residential and commercial properties.
- Use lawn care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, edgers, and blowers safely and effectively.
- Oversee crew members and work as part of a team to ensure the completion of tasks within the assigned time frame.
- Ensure all work is done to meet or exceed company quality standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain and clean equipment after use to ensure it remains in good working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, job-related issues, or safety concerns to the Operations Manager.
- Driving a truck and trailer with equipment to and from job sites.
- Communicate effectively with clients, maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Help maintain job site cleanliness by picking up debris and ensuring no damage is done to the property.
- Work in a safe manner by adhering to all company safety policies and using personal protective equipment when required.
- Assist in other landscaping tasks as assigned, including leaf removal, weeding, and mulching.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in lawn care, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate lawn care equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers) safely and efficiently.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Must be able to perform physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact with clients in a professional manner.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
- Must be reliable and punctual, with a positive attitude toward the work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Landscaping or horticulture knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of lawn care best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, when needed.
Compensation:
Hourly wage based on experience and starts at $17-$20 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and performance-based incentive bonuses.
