What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Needs Director - Niwot position at Rocky Mountain Christian Church?
Mission:
To develop and lead the Special Needs Ministry of Rocky Mountain Christian Church (Rocky). To build a fully integrated program that provides a safe and loving environment for children and adults with special needs in Rocky Kids (ages 3-12) and Students (ages 13-18).

Ministry Responsibilities:
- Develop buddies to come alongside children with special needs to offer a one-on-one nurturing environment that will provide support, based upon their unique strengths, and to help them in their journey in understanding who Jesus is and how that can change their lives forever.
- Work closely with Kids Pastors/Directors and Student Pastors to integrate special needs children/adults with special needs into Rocky Kids and Student ministries.
- Prepare weekly curriculum for Special Needs Ministry Sunday morning classes (students through adults).
- Recruit, mentor and train partners to serve with the participants with special needs and their families.
- Setup and maintain a central special needs room with appropriate tools, toys and furniture.
- Serve on the Shine Prom leadership team. Shine Prom is an event for the local special needs community held yearly at Rocky.
- Other related duties as assigned

Required Competencies/Experience:
- Possess the ability to recruit, develop, and lead partners that serve within the Special Needs Ministry.
- A college graduate, preferably with a minimum of 4 years of job experience in working with children and/or adults with special needs.
- Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to cast vision and build teams.
- Spiritual
- A member (or willing to be) of Rocky Mountain Christian Church
- Adopt Rocky’s Statement of Faith and Staff Values
Key Relationships:
- Interacts with: Rocky kids staff team members, Student Pastor’s, families of Rocky.
- Supervises: Team Members (Special Needs Volunteers, buddies)
Work Schedule: Flexible work schedule average 10-12 weekly hours.
Compensation and Benefits: This is a part-time position with no benefits
Department of Labor Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly
