Location: Lakewood, CO
Salary Range: $16.00-$18.00
Rocky Mountain College of Art Design is seeking an experienced Janitor for the graveyard shift on our beautiful, historic campus in Lakewood, CO. If you are a night owl and would enjoy a Part Time 25-30-hour work week, this position is for you! This role is responsible for the general cleaning and maintenance of offices, classrooms, and common spaces, including but not limited to restrooms, trash, floors, walls, and windows.
Candidates must live within commuting distance of our campus and have reliable transportation.

Primary Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
- Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash container, replace light bulbs
- Refill restroom dispensers
- Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools including buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
- Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required
- Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off the lights
- Follow instructions regarding the appropriate use of chemicals and supplies
- Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs using hand-operated tools or small power equipment
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis
- Wash accessible interior and exterior windows; clean blinds
- Launder cleaning rags and dust mops
- Additional duties as assigned
Education: Ability to speak, read and write English fluently; High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Prefer 1-2 years of experience in janitorial work

- May have to complete some cleaning tasks in a kneeling position
- Some tasks may require vigorous, repetitive movements
- Must be able to grip broom, mop, etc.
- Must be able to hold squirt bottles and cleaning rags
- Must be able to make circular hand movements to scrub walls and windows
- Must be able to tolerate loud noises such as vacuums and floor polishers
- Must be able to clearly identify dirt, dust, fingerprints, etc.
