We are a specialty wood products company with decades of experience selling materials in a variety of markets. We are in the Wheat Ridge area near I-70 and Kipling.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Safety Compliance
- Customer Service
- Loading delivery vehicles with a forklift
- Assisting with weekly inventory processes, if necessary
- Restocking material and assisting in the lumberyard once daily deliveries have been completed
Secondary responsibilities include:
- Operating a Delivery Vehicle
- Completing DOT pre-checks
- Navigating a smartphone and using industry-specific applications
A successful candidate would be comfortable in a warehouse / industrial space, have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and enjoy working independently. This position is primarily a customer service, material handling, forklift operation, and inventory accountability role and also encompasses a driving role as our backup CDL B driver.
A successful candidate would have a number of strengths including:
- Organization: This role exists within a team setting, but allows for large amounts of independent work to take place - so, organization and the ability to stay on task is important.
- Attention to Detail: A Delivery Driver will be responsible for handling several different types of paperwork, so attention to detail is crucial.
- Communication: This role involves working closely with multiple team members and clients. Strong, professional communication skills are important.
- Adaptability: The lumberyard industry is constantly evolving, so a Truck Driver (Delivery Driver) should be able to adapt to new situations and challenges as they arise.
- Time Management: This role involves completing a series of scheduled deliveries, so being able to schedule one's time effectively is important.
- Enjoy working independently while maintaining high levels of accountability
- Contribute towards maintaining a positive relationship with both clients and co-workers
- Be trustworthy, reliable, and consistent
Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Valid Class B CDL Driver's License
- Previous forklift experience
- Ability to arrive to work on-time
This role is primarily Monday - Friday, 7:30am-5pm - but does also require rotating Saturdays, 8am-noon. This position does have the potential for overtime.
This position is contained within the Operations Department, and all Operations employees are required to obtain a forklift certification. The company provides this certification at no cost to the employee.
Additional Information:
- Previous experience in construction material supply and delivery is preferred, although not required
- The delivery vehicles used require a Class B CDL
- The licensing requirements for this position is a Class B Driver's License
- Available Over-Time! (1.5x hourly rate)
- A recent copy of your MVR (within 30 days) is an advantage while applying for this position
