Position
We are growing in the Denver area and need an additional phlebotomist to join the team! As a Mobile Phlebotomist, you'll be an indispensable part of our laboratory operations, ensuring the efficient processing, documentation, and transport of specimens. Your role goes beyond mere sample handling – you'll also provide compassionate patient care, recognizing that behind every sample is a patient. Conducting mobile phlebotomy draws with precision and accuracy, you'll prioritize the well-being and comfort of each individual you encounter.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately input patient and specimen data into the laboratory information system (LIS).
- Verify and label specimens appropriately.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of specimens.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation following established protocols.
- Collaborate with team members for efficient workflow.
- Safely drive your vehicle to collect specimens from various locations in all local weather conditions.
- Use tools like tablets for data collection and tracking purposes (no smartphone provided; patient information must not be stored on personal devices).
- Conduct blood draws and specimen collection adhering to safety guidelines.
- Maintain infection control procedures and a clean work environment.
- Interact compassionately and professionally with patients during the collection process.
- Stay updated with industry standards and best practices in phlebotomy techniques.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants must have at least one year, preferably two years of experience in phlebotomy, encompassing proficiency in pediatric, geriatric, specimen processing, and capillary blood collections.
- Experience in mobile phlebotomy is highly desirable.
- Leadership experience is desirable for potential growth opportunities.
- Adequate transportation with personal auto insurance and a clean driving record.
- Previous courier or delivery driving experience is advantageous for the mobile aspect of this role; however, it is not required.
- Previous data entry experience preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and punctuality.
- Familiarity with routing software and GPS navigation.
- Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Required Licenses:
- Valid driver's license.
- Certification as a phlebotomist.
- Current auto insurance coverage.
Additional Information:
- Anticipated start date: 2/24/2025.
- Work location: Office based in Aurora, Colorado, with on-the-road duties in Denver and surrounding areas.
- Hourly pay: $20–24 per hour.
- Mileage reimbursement: Currently 70 cents per mile, reviewed annually and adjusted to align with the federal minimum.
