Position OverviewWe are seeking aMale Specimen Collectorto performobserved toxicology collectionsformale patientsat our facility. This role ensures compliance with privacy standards and is critical in maintaining the integrity of the collection process. As the face of the laboratory, you will provide exceptional customer service while accurately collecting, documenting, and handling specimens.
This position complies with observed collection standards established to protect patient privacy and comfort during the specimen collection process.
This part-time position offers 15-21 hours per week across three varied weekdays, with a typical schedule of 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Hours may occasionally be shorter depending on the facility’s needs. Workdays and hours will vary weekly, and schedules will be provided at least one week in advance.
Anticipated Start Date: as soon as we find the right candidate.
ResponsibilitiesPerform observed toxicology specimen collections for male patients in accordance with established procedures.
Accurately input patient and specimen data into the laboratory information system (LIS).
Verify and label specimens with appropriate identifiers.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and processing of specimens.
Maintain meticulous records and documentation following established protocols.
Provide clear and professional communication with patients and laboratory staff.
Ensure infection control procedures and maintain a clean and professional work environment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification in phlebotomy, CNA, Med Tech, or a related field is preferred (newly certified candidates are encouraged to apply).
Experience in specimen collection and data entry is a plus.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Basic computer proficiency.
Reliable, with a strong work ethic and punctuality.
Male applicants, due to the privacy requirements of performing observed collections for male patients. This complies with industry standards to protect patient comfort and privacy.
Must pass a background check.
Hourly Pay: $17-21per hour (DOE).
In-person at our partner facility in Tooele, UT.
