What are the responsibilities and job description for the Irrigation Foreman position at Rocky Mountain Landscaping?
Rocky Mountain Landscaping, Inc. has been a Wyoming owned and operated family business for over 20 years now. We specialize in new commercial installs, for example hotels and apartment complexes that are newly built. Most of our clients are general contractors and large scale property owners. We are currently looking for a highly motivated, safety first, irrigation foreman. You would oversee anywhere from 4-8 full time skilled labors help you install new park, hotel, and commercial retail sprinkler system! Some qualities that may play into this position include:
- Project Management: Oversee the entire irrigation installation project from start to finish, including planning, execution, and final inspection.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of installers and laborers, assigning tasks and providing guidance to ensure efficient workflow.
- Site Assessment: Evaluate job sites to determine the best irrigation system design based on the landscape, soil type, and water availability.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications to accurately install systems according to design requirements.
- System Installation: Ensure the proper installation of various irrigation components, including pipes, valves, pumps, and sprinkler heads.
- Training and Mentoring: Train new employees and team members on installation techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use.
- Quality Control: Perform regular checks on the work being done to ensure it meets established quality and safety standards.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during installation or operation of irrigation systems (e.g., leaks, pressure problems).
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, project stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.
- Maintenance Coordination: Schedule regular maintenance and repairs for installed systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a safe working environment.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and proper use of tools and equipment used in irrigation installation.
- Budget Management: Monitor project costs and supply appropriations, helping ensure projects remain within budget.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project progress.
Requirements
- Proven experience installing large scale irrigation systems using components such as 2-wire, gasketed PVC, satellite controllers, non-potable pipe and heads, and more.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain equipment and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- A commitment to safety practices in all aspects of work.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy materials when necessary.

Pay: $33.00 - $37.00 per hour
