Part-time Bookkeeper

Overview
We are a faith-based ministry seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing insightful financial reports to support business decisions.

Duties

• Perform balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
• Execute double entry bookkeeping to maintain comprehensive financial records.
• Prepare and post journal entries in the accounting system.
• Utilize accounting software, such as Sage, for efficient record-keeping and reporting.
• Conduct general ledger reconciliation to confirm the integrity of financial data.
• Assist in tax preparation and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Generate financial reports that provide insights into the company’s financial status.
• Collaborate with public accounting firms as needed for audits and reviews.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
• Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Sage is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with tax regulations and public accounting practices is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
