Schedule: Full-time, Wednesday through Sunday
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Chef de Cuisine / Senior Cook to lead our kitchen operations at the Boulder Reservoir Café, a seasonal lakeside destination with a focus on wellness-driven cuisine. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a James Beard Award-winning chef, executing health-focused menus in a vibrant, outdoor setting frequented by locals and visitors alike.
But this role goes beyond the café’s four walls.
We’re looking for someone with entrepreneurial spirit and strong operational skills to help build and expand new culinary programs across our growing network. This includes launching and overseeing:
- A grab-and-go program designed to serve high-quality, pre-packaged offerings at scale.
- A concession program at two additional Front Range locations, tailored to diverse outdoor and recreational audiences.
- A brand-new events and catering program to support Rocky Mountain Paddleboard locations up and down the Front Range, including weddings, corporate gatherings, and private events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day back-of-house operations at Boulder Reservoir Café, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality kitchen execution.
- Collaborate with our consulting chef to implement seasonal, health-conscious menus that reflect the natural surroundings and community values.
- Lead and inspire a small but mighty kitchen team (2-3 BoH staff), fostering a culture of positivity, professionalism, and culinary pride.
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and cost control systems to align with financial goals and sustainability practices.
- Uphold rigorous food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards across all locations and programs.
- Partner with FoH staff and event planners to ensure seamless food service for café customers, group events, and private catering.
- Take initiative in developing scalable kitchen systems and workflows for new locations and formats.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, or Senior Cook in high-volume or fast-paced environments.
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
- Passion for health-forward cuisine and commitment to ingredient integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel locally (Front Range) and work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
Bonus if you have:
- Experience launching or scaling new F&B concepts, especially mobile, pop-up, or outdoor food service.
- Background in catering or large-format event food execution.

Pay: $27.20 - $29.64 per hour
