We are Rocky Mountain Prep, a movement comprised of incredible educators, families, scholars, and advocates who are changing the face of public education in Colorado by democratizing college access and preparation for historically marginalized students and families. On paper, we are a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in the Denver metro area serving students as young as twelve weeks through twelfth grade.

- 100% of campuses going green & ECE-2nd grade students growing an average of 1.25 years in math and reading
- 100% of seniors accepted into college

Role Mission
The Director of Academic Team Operations plays a pivotal role in amplifying the Executive Director of Academic Programming’s (EDAP) capacity to lead and drive RMP’s mission. As a trusted partner, this individual will focus on the effectiveness of the Academic Programming Team, providing operational excellence through systems, processes, communications, and event logistics support.
This role includes the management of one direct report: Manager of Academics Team Operations.
In this role, you will…
Executive Support and Team Alignment
- Assist the EDAP by managing priorities, tracking progress on strategic initiatives, and coordinating tasks to ensure the Academic Programming Team meets organizational goals.
- Develop and implement systems to align the Academic Programming Team with the broader network’s vision, mission, and goals.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, ensuring transparency and accountability within the team.
Enhancing EDAP Effectiveness
- Optimize the Executive Director’s time and resources by managing schedules, prioritizing tasks, and handling day-to-day operational needs.
- Proactively identify and address potential challenges or inefficiencies, providing solutions to enhance productivity.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and ensure timely execution of strategic plans.
Academic Programming Team Communications
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications related to the Academic Programming Team.
- Develop and maintain efficient channels of communication to ensure that all team members are informed, engaged, and aligned.
- Oversee the creation and dissemination of key updates, reports, and resources.
Event Logistics Management
- With the assistance of your direct report, Plan, coordinate, and execute all Academic Programming Team events, including professional development sessions, ensuring seamless delivery and impactful experiences for participants.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design agendas, source materials, and secure venues and resources.
- Collect and analyze feedback to continually improve event quality and effectiveness.
Operational Excellence and Strategic Contributions
- Develop and implement operational processes that drive efficiency and effectiveness within the Academic Programming Team.
- Manage budgets and resources, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes by providing insights and recommendations based on operational data.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Academic Programming Team.
Management and Professional Development of Direct Report
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the Manager, Academics Team Operations, ensuring their professional growth and effectiveness in supporting team operations.
- Establish performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure high standards of productivity and development.
- Facilitate access to resources, training, and mentorship to support career progression.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Take on ad hoc assignments to address urgent or emerging priorities, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to organizational needs.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in college access, counseling, or a related area, preferably in a secondary school setting.
- Proven track record of supporting students in college readiness and access, with a focus on equity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of the college admissions process, financial aid systems, and post-secondary pathways.
- Strong commitment to equity and a passion for increasing opportunities for underrepresented students.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with data analysis and using metrics to drive decision-making.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a charter school or multi-site educational organization.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
Salary: $85,000- $120,000- DOE, expected to land in the first 50th percentile of range
Status: Full-Time, Salary-Exempt
