Position : Director of Talent Strategy   Location : Denver, CO  Reports to : CEO  Salary Range : $85,000 - $120,000 We are Rocky Mountain Prep, a movement comprised of incredible educators, families, scholars, and advocates who are changing the face of public education in Colorado by democratizing college access and preparation for historically marginalized students and families. On paper, we are a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in the Denver metro area serving students as young as twelve weeks through twelfth grade. But we are so much more than this. Who We Are  Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) is a network of high-performing public charter schools committed to educational equity, rigorous academics, and joyful classrooms. At RMP, we ensure that every teacher receives the support, coaching, and development needed to thrive and drive student success.  We seek a disciplined executor and strategic problem-solver who will drive talent initiatives with urgency, precision, and data-driven insights. This role requires someone who moves seamlessly between strategy and implementation—someone who sees execution as their superpower and builds systems that empower leaders to own and sustain talent practices at every level of the organization. Key Responsibilities  Talent Strategy & Performance Management  Build and implement a performance management system that is human-centered, transparent, and accountability-driven, ensuring every RMP team member receives actionable feedback aligned with our mission.  Partner with school and department leaders to embed execution discipline and accountability structures that drive measurable improvement.  Design and continuously improve career pathways that clarify growth, development, and advancement at RMP.  Establish and maintain feedback loops, ensuring that performance management processes include multiple perspectives (self, supervisor, peer, student, where applicable). Compensation & Rewards Strategy  Develop and execute a competitive, equitable, and sustainable compensation strategy that reflects our commitment to retaining top talent while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Conduct regular salary benchmarking and pay equity analyses to ensure our compensation model remains competitive and mission-aligned.  Partner with Finance, HR, and Senior Leadership to ensure that compensation structures are transparent, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities. Talent Data & Analytics  Use data to drive decision-making, providing insightful, action-oriented reports on workforce trends, retention risks, and opportunities for improvement.  Own HR technology solutions that streamline and enhance performance management, talent tracking, and compensation administration.  Maintain real-time visibility into talent health metrics, ensuring that leadership proactively identifies and addresses talent gaps before they become crises. Leadership & Collaboration  Serve as a thought partner and execution leader for senior leadership, ensuring that talent decisions align with RMP’s mission, vision, and strategic direction.  Model RMP’s PEAK values—holding yourself and others accountable to excellence in execution, direct and kind communication, and a relentless focus on student impact.   Drive a culture where clarity is kind, ensuring that expectations, accountability structures, and growth opportunities are explicit and consistently reinforced. What We’re Looking For  Mission-Driven Executor : You operate with a strong sense of urgency, ensuring talent strategy directly translates into improved student and staff outcomes.  Strategic & Tactical Leader : You don’t just set the vision—you also build the processes, accountability systems, and execution mechanisms to make it real.  Data-Driven Decision-Maker : You use data, trends, and analysis to inform strategy and hold yourself accountable for results.  Builder of Systems & Structures : You develop scalable, sustainable systems that enhance execution discipline and ownership at every level of the organization.  Equity & Excellence Champion : You bring a deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and ensure that all talent strategies are aligned with RMP’s vision for an equitable, high-performing organization.   All Network Support Team Staff at Rocky Mountain Prep will : Own their outcomes and demonstrate high personal responsibility by setting high expectations, using data to guide their daily actions, maximizing time in service of our students, families, and staff, and demonstrating a commitment to helping us achieve our Big Five goals.  Take ownership of your professional growth by actively engaging in regular coaching, being open to feedback, and commitment to continuous improvement.  Resist the urge to make excuses when things do not go well and take accountability, particularly regarding our students, families, and staff.  Be punctual and prepared for all meetings, presentations, coaching sessions, and other professional obligations, being the model of applying rigor and love to everything we do. Build your schedule around the needs of our schools, keeping in mind that NST supports the transformative work happening in our schools daily. Demonstrate an openness to responding and serving the work in our schools, regardless of what team you are on. Be able to consistently demonstrate how your daily work improves the quality of our schools and classrooms for all of our scholars, staff, and families.  Model and embody RMP’s PEAK values (Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness) in all interactions with scholars, families, and staff. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to accomplish the work and build a positive and inclusive culture. Operate with an urgency that reflects our ambitious goals as an organization, ensuring that every resource is used to bring us closer to achieving our Concept Essence.  Participate in and contribute to network-wide initiatives, professional development, and student and staff recruitment efforts.   Qualifications & Experience 7 years of experience in talent strategy, HR, or performance management, ideally in a high-accountability, student-centered organization. Proven experience designing and executing performance management systems that drive measurable results.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive continuous improvement.  Experience with HR technology, compensation benchmarking, and workforce analytics.
