The Opportunity : Head of Finance & Planning We are looking for a visionary financial leader to partner with our President, People & Business Administration and oversee our financial strategy, budgeting, policies, and reporting. This person will ensure that our financial decisions fuel our mission and sustain the movement we’re building at RMP. A proactive problem-solver— You anticipate challenges, create solutions, and lead with clarity and confidence.   What You’ll Do You will report directly to the President, People & Business Administration and serve as a key financial leader across our 12 schools (5 elementary, 5 middle, 2 high schools) and Network Support Team (NST). You will also work closely with the Executive Team and Board to ensure financial sustainability and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities : Financial Strategy & Planning Lead long-term financial planning, scenario modeling, and cost analysis to ensure RMP’s financial health. Oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. Develop financial policies that prioritize equity and sustainability. Board & Business Committee Leadership Prepare financial updates to the Board and Business Committee, ensuring transparency and strategic alignment. Provide clear, data-driven insights that drive informed decision-making at the highest levels. Financial Operations & Compliance Direct and support the accounting, auditing, payroll, and school budgeting functions. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and grant regulations. Manage financial reporting, including monthly narratives, quarterly board updates, and annual audits. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of six finance professionals who oversee accounting, auditing, payroll, accounts payable, and school budgeting. Collaborate with Executive Leaders to align on financial goals that advance our Mission (Concept Essence and Academic Vision) Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the finance team. Inspire and motivate team members by connecting financial work to RMP’s broader mission.   What You Bring We know that talent comes in many forms, and we are looking for a unique blend of skills, experience, and mindset that aligns with our mission. Required Skills & Experience : Financial Expertise : 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, or financial strategy, with at least 5 years in leadership roles. Strategic Planning : Experience leading multi-year financial planning, forecasting, and cost analysis. Leadership & People Management : Proven success in managing and developing high-performing finance teams. Stakeholder Engagement : Experience partnering with executive teams, Boards, and external stakeholders.
