Role Mission

At RMP, art is not just a subject—it is a powerful tool for self-expression, storytelling, and identity development. As a Middle School Art Teacher, you will lead students to see themselves as artists and visionaries. Through a rigorous, culturally responsive art curriculum rooted in diverse perspectives and mediums, you will cultivate students’ technical skill, creative courage, and critical thinking. You’ll ensure every scholar experiences the joy and discipline of the creative process—developing voice, craft, and confidence in their unique artistic identities. Art at RMP strengthens scholar outcomes across all subjects by supporting fine motor development, spatial awareness, emotional literacy, and interdisciplinary connections. Most importantly, you will guide students to discover how their creativity connects them to their communities and empowers their future. This role inspires scholars to see art not just as a product—but as a process that mirrors who they are and what they are becoming.

All Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will:

  • Own student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide your teaching, maximizing instructional time, re-teaching where needed, and promoting outstanding scholar growth and proficiency.
  • Take ownership of your professional growth by actively engaging in regular coaching, being open to feedback, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Be consistently punctual and prepared for all lessons, coaching sessions, staff meetings, and other professional obligations (such as PD, parent-teacher conferences, etc).

  • Participate in and contribute to school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student and staff recruitment efforts.
  • Support school operations by assisting with daily duties such as arrival, dismissal, and lunch, ensuring a smooth, safe, and organized learning environment.
  • RMP is fast-paced and data-driven. Your role combines clear expectations but also requires flexibility to adapt and contribute to our evolving Concept Essence.
