Job Title: Water Restoration Technician
Job Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for mitigating water damage in residential and commercial properties due to flooding, leaks, or other water-related incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of water damage restoration techniques, mold remediation, and drying equipment, and be able to work efficiently and professionally in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Water Damage Assessment: Perform detailed water damage assessments and inspections to determine the extent of the damage and the best course of action for mitigation and restoration.
- Water Extraction: Utilize specialized equipment such as pumps, vacuums, and wet vacuums to remove standing water from affected areas.
- Drying and Dehumidification: Set up and monitor air movers, dehumidifiers, and other drying equipment to restore the property to pre-loss conditions.
- Mold Prevention: Identify potential mold growth areas and implement mold remediation strategies in accordance with industry standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Take detailed photos and write reports to document the restoration process and damage assessment for insurance purposes.
- Customer Service: Communicate with clients to inform them of the restoration process, provide updates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of yourself, your team, and the property. Properly handle hazardous materials and equipment.
- Maintenance of Equipment: Regularly inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot water restoration equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians, project managers, and support staff to ensure timely and effective water damage restoration.
Working Conditions:
- Work is typically performed in environments with varying levels of water damage, including residential and commercial properties.
- Working hours are typically Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm but after-hours work is common due to the nature of the restoration industry.
- Occasional on-call hours may be required for emergency water damage events.
- Travel may be required depending on the location of the job.
