Landscape Foreman

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Foreman to manage and install landscaping for a variety of clients in the Flathead Valley.

Job Qualifications:

• Valid and insurable license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the landscaping industry
• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and to work a minimum of 8 hours a day
• Demonstrate the ability to operate landscape related equipment such as a truck, trailers, skid steer and attachments, loader, tractor, sod cutter, chainsaws, pruning tools, and any other necessary equipment
• Demonstrates knowledge of landscape plants and construction, including but not limited to: planting trees and shrubs, drainage work, retaining walls, shoot grade, patios, walks, outdoor garden structures, water features, lighting, and irrigation systems
• Be able to read landscape design plans and work orders, be mechanically inclined and a top-notch communicator
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to manage, train and motivate up to 4 landscape personnel
• Ability to work with a wide range of people, alone or as part of a team

Job Specific Responsibilities:

Personnel

• Supervise up to 4 landscape crew members
• Delegate duties to landscape crew in a constructive and positive manner
• Produce high quality work and coach crew on quality standards

Equipment

• Oversee and direct loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment
• Oversee and/or perform daily checks of vehicles and equipment
• Assists in coordinating equipment scheduling and rentals with Manager

Field Work

• Follow estimated standards for job and efficiency by maintaining efficient, steady work pace
• Coordinate work to maximize efficiency, quality, and profitability
• Manage time, labor, materials and equipment to limit costs
• Coordinate deliveries/pick-ups of material ordered by landscape designer
• Identifies and notifies the landscape designer when change orders are anticipated
• Meet with designer prior to completion of project to develop a check list for job completion
