About Pre-Op PACU RN Position:
As a pre-op PACU nurse at rocky mountain surgical center you will be responsible for admission of scheduled surgical patients, IV starts, initial focused assessment, following physician orders for preparation for surgery. The RN will ensure all necessary paperwork is present and facilitate its timely addition to the chart. The PACU RN will use critical thinking and judgment in the safe post anesthetic care and recovery of a patient. The RN will monitor the patient and provide individualized discharge teaching when discharge criteria met. The RN will work with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and an interdepartmental team to ensure safe patient care is performed. RMSC values quality, compassionate care in a service oriented manner to provide patients with a comfortable experience. At RMSC we believe in a small cohesive team to provide our care, therefore; nurses are expected to assist in inventory management, supply stocking, and some administrative duties such as chart checks and performance improvement projects.
Qualifications/Expectations:
One year nursing experience required (PACU/ASC experience preferred).
You will be responsible for the care of up to 3 patients at different stages in the perioperative setting.
Strong communication with a focus on patient safety and team work is important at RMSC.
No call, major holidays, occasional overnight on volunteer basis.
We require all our team to be cost focus to be good stewards of our facility to help keep prices low for our patients.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Training usually follows a see one do one teach one process; therefore fast learning is imperative to your success at our facility.
