Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Burn by Rocky Patel - Pittsburgh. The Assistant General Manager will play a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of our upscale cigar lounge and bar, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere. This position requires a strong understanding of the hospitality industry, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for providing a premium experience to our clientele.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the lounge and bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff management, and inventory control.
- Ensure smooth and efficient service by coordinating with bartenders, servers, and other staff members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained environment throughout the lounge and bar.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of cigars, beverages, and other supplies, placing orders as needed.
- Handle cash and process transactions accurately.
- Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, addressing their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Build rapport with regular customers and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Maintain knowledge of different cigar types, brands, and accessories to assist customers with their selections.
- Staff Management:
- Assist in training, supervising, and motivating staff members.
- Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Sales and Marketing:
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to increase sales and attract new customers.

- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including alcohol service, tobacco sales, and health and safety standards.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a bar, lounge, or restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of cigars, spirits, and bar operations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proven leadership and staff management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a cigar lounge or similar establishment.
- Knowledge of different cigar brands, vitolas, and origins.
- Certification in alcohol service or hospitality management.
