SALARY:
$27.20 - $33.25 per hour, the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan. RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose
The Facilities and Grounds Sr. Technician is responsible for, under general direction of the Manager of Facilities and Grounds, the planning, coordination, and overseeing the operation of RVU Utah facilities, including custodial and grounds, HVAC system monitoring, and the safety and coordination of campus usage. This position provides back up and support to the Manager of Facilities and Grounds, and all Technicians in the department. The Sr. Technician position will provide necessary training to the Facilities, Landscape, and Custodial Technician positions. This position reports to the Manager of Facilities and Grounds.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist in or coordinate the planning and decision-making for maintaining the safety, utility and appearance of RVU Utah.
- Performs preventive maintenance on building systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems and-related components.
- Assist in creating a schedule of regular evaluations of the-facility, and regular maintenance.
- Oversees and makes recommendations for improvements and modifications associated with Facilities and Grounds.
- Monitor and maintain HVAC and Lighting Management Systems, including scheduling of their use, with assistance from the Facilities and Grounds Technician.
- Assists the Manager and all technicians in developing and maintaining a plan for 24-7 coverage relating to building usage, custodial, grounds, maintenance, safety and emergencies.
- Ensure operation, and upkeep to vehicles and equipment owned by RVU.
- Assist all technicians in the usage of facilities by RVU Utah personnel/groups and organizations within the university: set-ups, take-downs, and clean-up.
- Identifies repair and maintenance projects requiring the assistance of contractors or vendors while participating in the estimates and evaluations of project costs, monitors work of vendors or contractors to assure compliance-of with facility maintenance standards.
- Monitors inventory, orders supplies, maintains records and logs of daily activity.
- Maintain a broad working knowledge of materials and systems related to RVU facilities.
- Comply with Federal, State, and Local code.
- Provide training of Facilities and Grounds staff during weekly planning meetings.
Marginal Job Functions
- Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects as needed under the direction of the Manager.
- Continue education programs through HVAC and electrical vendors, keeping RVU Utah up to code standards related to electrical needs.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in supervision of maintenance and operations and/or facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
- Some knowledge of Trane HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of Net2/Paxton controls or similar system.
- One (1)-three (3) years Electrical/electronic experience.
