Looking for an employer with a long history and stability? Rockydale Quarries Corporation, an established aggregate producer in Virginia, is seeking a Weighmaster for our Staunton, VA location. This position works within a quarry environment and will be weighing company and customer trucks hauling company products. This position requires skills and competencies in Microsoft Office, proficiencies in counting/ handling money, and the ability to assist customers in selecting appropriate aggregate products that meet the required specifications of a job. This is not a call center position nor a typical office setting due to the nature and environment of the job. This position consists of, but not limited to, loading and weighing trucks according to VDOT standards and Rockydale Quarry policies and procedures. Accurately enter information into ticketing system and build rapport with customers. Communicate daily with customers, owner operators, supervisors and all levels of personnel. Execute all Rockydale Quarry policies and procedures. Strong proficiency with computer skills needed.
High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to work overtime as required by job. Must have knowledge of Windows based software. Successful candidate must be able to deal with customers, contractors, and delivery drivers, both in-person and by telephone, and have a strong knowledge of Roanoke and surrounding areas. Applies acquired knowledge of industry, organization, services, and policies to provide efficient and courteous customer service by telephone and/or personal contact.
Must possess effective communication skills both oral and written, be able to multi-task simultaneously, and work in a highly active work environment. Candidate must have demonstrated customer service skills. Experience with data entry and a strong proficiency with basic mathematics to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to include fractions and percentages. Demonstrates attention to detail and organizational skills. Dependable, self-motivated and positive attitude when working with others in a team.
