Description
The Hotel Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of all public areas within the hotel, including lobbies, restrooms, hallways, and other common spaces. This role ensures guests enjoy a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Maintenance
• Regularly clean and sanitize public areas, including lobbies, restrooms, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and outdoor spaces.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and decorative items in common areas.
• Vacuum carpets, sweep, and mop floors as needed.
• Empty trash and recycling bins in public areas and replace liners.
Restocking Supplies
• Replenish restroom supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and hand towels.
• Ensure public area supplies (e.g., tissues, sanitizing wipes) are stocked and available.
Guest Assistance
• Respond promptly to guest requests for public area-related needs (e.g., cleaning spills or locating facilities).
• Provide directions or answer guest questions in a polite and professional manner.
Health and Safety Compliance
• Follow proper cleaning procedures and use chemicals and equipment safely according to hotel standards.
• Report maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures or lighting) to the appropriate department.
• Ensure all public areas meet health, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.
Team Support
• Assist other housekeeping staff with tasks as needed, such as delivering supplies or helping during high-occupancy periods.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to address any immediate repair needs.
Special Projects
• Perform periodic deep cleaning of specific areas, such as high-traffic zones or seasonal cleaning projects.
• Set up or clean public areas for special events or functions.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or public area cleaning is an advantage but not required.
