Description
The Hotel Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and comfort of guest rooms and public areas in accordance with hotel standards. This role ensures that guests have a pleasant and comfortable stay by providing top-notch service and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Maintenance
• Clean and service assigned guest rooms daily, including changing bed linens, making beds, vacuuming, dusting, and mopping floors.
• Replenish amenities such as toiletries, towels, and in-room coffee or tea supplies.
• Ensure that all appliances (e.g., TV, air conditioning, and lights) are functioning properly and report any maintenance issues.
• Sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, tubs, and mirrors.
Guest Service
• Respond promptly to guest requests, such as additional towels or special amenities.
• Ensure guest privacy and security by adhering to “Do Not Disturb” and other signage.
• Handle guest belongings respectfully when cleaning rooms.
Health and Safety Compliance
• Follow proper cleaning and sanitation protocols as per hotel and health department standards.
• Use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Immediately report safety hazards, damage, or suspicious activities to the supervisor.
Organizational Duties
• Restock housekeeping carts and storage areas with necessary supplies.
• Ensure linen closets and carts are kept neat and organized.
• Assist with laundry tasks when required.
Other Duties
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues.
• Assist with special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning or seasonal tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hotel or similar setting is an advantage.

• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting.
