Description : Purpose
Responsible for actively prospecting and qualifying new business - consistent with Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort’s quality standards, operating systems, procedures, philosophies, and culture icons.
Key Accountabilities
Perform administrative functions including typing, answering telephones, and composing correspondence. Excellent attention to detail. Ensuring all correspondence is entirely accurate.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, customers, and guests.
Supports the team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other team members.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort’s core values and principles.
Represent, support, and protect the Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort’s brand.
Build new group sales business by procuring, producing, and / or reviewing all sales contracts, rate agreements, and / or banquet / catering event orders for the groups in their segment.
Manages all “day of” event details for special events and bookings.
Core Responsibilities
Actively prospects and qualifies new accounts.
Attends and participates in all sales-related meetings.
Develops and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers
Develops sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue for food, beverage and room night goals.
Maintains relations with existing accounts.
Produces and reviews all sales contracts, client proposals, banquet event orders, and floor plans
Creates client experiences that uphold resort / brand standards.
Creates strong interoffice relationships to ensure the clients’ expectations are exceeded.
Assigns, distributes, and responds to incoming leads.
Conduct site visits, may require evening or Saturday tours
Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED. Bachelor's Degree preferred
Prior sales experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to use reservation and revenue management systems to develop pricing and sales recommendations.
Experience with Delphi preferred.
Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel)
Must have a flexible work schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Position requires sitting, handling, eye-hand coordination, stooping, kneeling, and walking / standing for multiple hours in succession.
This position may on occasion require the lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing of up to approximately 50lbs.
Must be able to withstand changes to temperature, steam, and heat.
Must be able to work in a confined area for multiple hours in succession.
Must be able to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear effectively with surrounding background noise.
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must possess adequate sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situations, distinguish product taste, texture, temperature, presentation, and preparation.
