Description : Position Summary
As a resort Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping the resort buildings and grounds in good order with the minimum disruption to guests and staff. This will include carpentry, decorating, electric and plumbing skills as well as the ability to analyze and overcome problems.
Key Accountabilities :
Adherence to Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort quality standards, operating systems / procedures & safety regulations / requirements.
Promote a safe and healthy work environment and superior guest experience.
Help to ensure all Resort facilities are maintained.
Represent, support, and protect the Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort brand.
Core Responsibilities
Perform general repairs and maintenance for resort facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces, up to and including team member housing.
Troubleshoot and repair complex issues related to the resort’s facilities, such as plumbing leaks, electrical malfunctions, or HVAC failures.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as servicing air conditioning units, inspecting plumbing systems, and maintaining resort lighting systems.
Inspect areas for general maintenance needs. .
Painting, drywall repair and plumbing.
Employee must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company including but not limited to those contained in the employee handbook. ?
Ensure preventive maintenance procedures are followed to avoid equipment breakdowns and costly repairs.
Respond to both internal and external maintenance request.
Routine maintenance checks of safety equipment like fire alarms, fire extinguishers etc. to ensure all are in working condition.
Refurbishing of chairs, tables, doors, windows, and counters.
Work alongside other departments (e.g., housekeeping, front desk) to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements : Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
High school diploma or GED (required) or technical or vocational school background in maintenance or a related field a Plus
At least 1 year of specialized experience in a maintenance field or similar; and / or a combination of education and experience. Previous experience in general maintenance or working in a hotel, resort, or similar setting is a plus.
Basic knowledge of repair techniques involving various equipment and materials, replacement of electronics, painting, and cleaning
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, HVAC, and general repair work.
Ability to operate common tools and machinery.
Ensure that the resort’s equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is in good working order
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work day time / evening hours including weekend and / or holidays.
