Position Information

Reports to: Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteer Description
As a volunteer, you will be instrumental in fulfilling the organization’s mission by giving your time, skills, and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about our cause, reliable, and willing to take on a variety of tasks to support our team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting the organization of special events and projects
Assisting with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, answering phones
Distributing resources or providing direct services to young people of Rod’s House
Participating in team meetings and training sessions
Providing support to staff as needed, including helping with mailings, making copies, and other office tasks
Representing the organization positively to the public
Adhering to all organization policies and procedures, including confidentiality and ethical guidelines
Supporting the planning and execution of special events
Providing support to staff and other volunteers as needed
Promoting the organization’s mission and values
Adhering to the organization’s policies and procedures
Understanding your role and responsibilities as well as the rules and safety regulations of the organization
Completing the relevant training and asking questions if you are uncertain about anything
Complete all duties assigned by the supervisor and report any issues immediately
Observing the rules and safety regulations of the organization while carrying out tasks
Arriving on time for duty and remaining professional in your interactions with all stakeholders
Communicating with the supervisor when you are running late or unable to fulfill your duties
Program facilitation and support
Youth mentoring and tutoring
Complete all duties as assigned and other duties as required.

Volunteer Conditions and Physical Requirements
Shifts could include evening, early mornings, including holidays. This position may require interactions with young people experiencing homelessness and with community members, social service providers, and other organizations. Physical requirements for the position include frequent walking, hearing, seeing, speaking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, climbing, and repetitive motions. This position could require exerting up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.
