Senior Manager, Demand Planning
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Sr Manager, Demand Planning owns development, implementation and governance of processes and planning systems to support the monthly S&OP process. In addition to leading transformational and continuous improvement changes, the Sr Manager will own and facilitate the Demand Planning process across the enterprise with the objective of synchronizing insights by channel across a portfolio of products in the US, Canada and Australia. The candidate will align the consensus forecast with business owners (FP&A, Affiliate, Commercial and Marketing teams), develop dashboards to monitor performance and orchestrate reporting and analytics to improve forecast assumptions and accuracy. This role will collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand and reflect key drivers in the demand plan including enrollment and population trends, commercial activities, digital marketing spend and new product launches across existing and emerging channels. In this role, you will have the opportunity to present to executive leadership through monthly S&OP meetings on financial risks and opportunities. The Sr Manager, Demand Planning will serve as a thought leader in optimizing standard processes within the current planning systems (SAP and Logility) and explore new services in the marketplace to support the S&OP process.
This role requires the ability to critically think through plans and develop recommendations to achieve desired outcomes and KPIs and effectively communicate up, down and across the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and facilitate the S&OP Demand planning process. Create and implement best practice processes to optimize system utilization and support the monthly S&OP process.
- Own and align the demand plans that drive the supply plans and work with business owners/leadership to generate a consensus demand plan.
- Influence and collaborate with key partners in marketing, affiliates, retail, supply chain and finance and address input gaps as identified by forecast error, bias and volatility review, supplier performance, supply constraints and other means.
- Continually assess demand planning assumptions, developing and refining analytical tools with the Advanced Analytics Sr Planner.
- Work with cross-functional teams and leadership to identify and analyze potential demand, supply and inventory risks and opportunities.
- Work with various cross-functional teams on projects such as new product launches, reformulations, product discontinuations, promotions, and events.
- Hindsight initiatives providing insights to forecast assumptions and drive better understanding of business strategies and demand drivers. Translate the qualitative and quantitative inputs into a strategic demand forecast.
- Assist in development of annual and strategic plans and reconcile them with monetized S&OP plans by evaluating historical sales trends and demand patterns and developing statistical forecast models to create a bottoms up monthly forecast that reconciles to top line targets.
- Drive resolution of gaps to plans and communicate and escalate critical gaps between the plans in the S&OP process.
- Conduct and/or facilitate what-if analysis to create sensitivity plans and reconcile demand, supply, and financial plans. Explain and communicate the risks and upside associated with different scenarios for more productive cross-functional discussions.
- Identify areas of improvement in current planning process and recommend action plans.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, CHARACTERISTICS:
- 7 years of Forecasting and/or Supply Chain Planning experience with strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain; Experience in beauty, CPG or Retail industries a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a focus on Supply Chain Management, Economics or analytical focus.
- Aptitude to influence and lead a team that does not directly report to them.
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset; Energized by thinking through and solving complex challenges.
- Comfortable managing high complexity SKU’s for a global enterprise.
- Experience in honing forecast models in Logility, Anaplan or other Demand Planning solutions as well as a working knowledge of SAP or other Supply Chain ERP Systems.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Query and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapid growth and evolving business environment.

Salary : $108,000 - $172,000
