Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. You will play a vital role in managing staff, maintaining store standards, and creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. Duties Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and employee orientation processes to build a strong team. Manage daily store operations, including inventory management and merchandising. Train and develop staff to enhance their skills in sales techniques and customer service. Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure optimal product availability and pricing. Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve sales goals. Maintain high standards of store presentation and cleanliness. Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction. Collaborate with the Store Manager on promotional activities and marketing strategies. Qualifications Proven experience in retail management or a similar role within a grocery store environment. Strong sales skills with the ability to motivate staff to achieve targets. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail. Experience in employee training, orientation, and development is preferred. Strong negotiation skills to foster positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
