At Roebuck Landscaping (RL), we don’t just build landscapes—we create lasting environments. As we enter a high-growth phase, we’re looking for a Crew Driver/Member for our Landscape Construction Division to be the driving force, literally and figuratively, behind our projects.
This role is more than just a driver—it’s about safely hauling trailers, transporting heavy equipment, and supporting landscape construction projects in the field. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Driving & Equipment Transport:
- Safely operate company trucks while hauling trailers, skid steers, and other heavy equipment between job sites.
- Load, secure, and transport materials, tools, and machinery to project locations, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and trailers, ensuring everything is in top condition.
- Maneuver and back up trailers with precision in tight job sites, highways, and commercial properties.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies while driving.
Landscape Construction Support:
- Assist in the installation of hardscapes, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, and outdoor structures.
- Prepare and grade sites by digging, leveling, and performing ground preparation for landscape installations.
- Install irrigation systems, drainage solutions, and lighting fixtures, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and sod, following landscape designs and quality standards.
- Spread mulch, gravel, and other materials to enhance the appearance and functionality of landscape projects.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow OSHA safety standards and company policies to maintain a safe job site.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of equipment to minimize risks and downtime.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Support & Collaboration
- Work closely with fellow crew members, supervisors, and project managers to complete tasks efficiently.
- Communicate openly to address challenges, adapt to changing project needs, and maintain workflow.
- Assist with site clean-up, material organization, and general labor to support project success.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Landscape Construction Division and RL.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: FIRST YEAR EXPECTATIONS
- Master Safe Driving & Equipment Transport: Become the go-to driver for the assigned crew.
- Support Hardscape & Softscape Installations: Work alongside the crew on grading, planting, irrigation, and more.
- Prioritize Safety & Compliance: Follow all regulations for transport and job site operations.
- Be a Dependable Team Player: Show reliability, initiative, and commitment to high-quality work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid, clean driver’s license with experience hauling trailers & medium/heavy equipment.
- Proven Experience: 1 years of experience in commercial landscape construction with a focus on softscape installations.
- Comfortable driving large vehicles and maneuvering trailers.
- Strong understanding of safe driving practices.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Quick Learner: Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong follow-up and follow-through abilities.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
