The Maintenance Manager supervises, and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment, physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds by perform-ing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Studies schedules and estimates workers hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Develops methods to predict maintenance intervals vs. reactive maintenance.
- Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Establishes or adjusts maintenance procedures to meet production schedules.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
- Evaluates employee performance and implements improvement plans where necessary.
- Supports Engineering Manager in adjusting new equipment to conform to production standards.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Performs activities of workers supervised.
- Assists in training new production operators in set-up and operations procedures.
- Report KPIs to upper management on effectiveness of work order completion.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Directly manages employees in the maintenance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; reward-ing and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively be-fore groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, cir-cumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only lim-ited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
