THE BASICS:
Under the direction of the Production Manager complete basic operation of hand, power tools, and machinery in addition to conducting general cleaning of a work area. We are specifically hiring for 3rd shift (11 PM - 7 AM).
JOB SPECIFICS:
The items listed below are good representative of the responsibilities required, but others may be assigned as necessary.
- Setup, loading, operation, program editing and possible programming of CNC milling, turning and/or router equipment.
- Install fixtures on machine tables, clamping parts using vices and inserting and setting tooling height in tool holders.
- Operate other equipment such as, a computer, saw, planer, shaper, bandsaw, router, fork truck, lathe and mill.
- Conduct general cleaning such as sweeping the floor around his/her assigned machine, emptying large waste containers, moving and sorting material.
- Deburr machined parts with knives, files, sanders and other sharp tools.
- Perform general equipment maintenance such as changing fluids, using of a grease gun, changing belts and bearings, and lubricating equipment.
- Conduct precise measurement using tools such as a tape measure, micrometers, vernier calipers, indicators and thread gages.
- Lift/move oversized plastics and composite material weighing 50-100 pounds with the aid of fellow employee and moving material weighing several hundred pounds with the aid of a fork truck.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:
High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as orders with special instructions, safety rules and operating/procedure manuals. Must have a basic understanding of reading prints. Must be able to accurately complete paperwork, including quality checks. Must have the ability to communicate problems with equipment or material to their lead man or supervisor.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Must be able to convert measurements from metric to standard. Must be able to apply basic math skills.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must have the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carrying out instructions issued either verbally, written or diagramed.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the ability to read measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, thread gages or tape measures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must be able to withstand the physical requirements of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with a disability to perform these duties. While performing the duties of the position, the operator will be required occasionally to stand, kneel, bend or stoop. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs and stand for 7-8 hours per day. This position requires the ability to make visual judgment of both finished and work in process material.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job. The employee regularly works near saw blades or moving mechanical machinery and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work area is usually loud.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
