What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) position at Roehl Transport?
The Opportunity:
As a Senior SQL DBA with TeamRoehl, you make a difference by designing, developing, and implementing SQL Server data platform architectures and relational data model designs that provide sustainable, secure and high performing data solutions for Roehl data applications in our clustered Operations and Business Intelligence SQL Server 2022 environments. Additionally, you will support our cloud SQL Server platform databases. You will be on the front lines of protecting sensitive data and securing Roehl data assets. You will partner with application architects and developers to provide OLTP and analytical data designs for a myriad of data-driven solutions that provide the foundation for customer and driver success at Roehl.
Roehl Transport is a data rich environment! Our 2,000 tractors and 5,000 trailers are generating hundreds of data points per mile. Our proprietary customer and driver management systems and sophisticated communications systems are full of data just ready to be explored and leveraged. The Experience:
This is a senior-level opportunity. This generally means that you have:
- Expert level SQL and T-SQL Skills
- Expert level SQL Server performance tuning
- Expert level SQL Server troubleshooting
- Experience working in a clustered, high-availability environment
- Experience working with Microsoft security and identity solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Replication and CDC strongly preferred
- Multiple years working in a senior technical role, designing DBMS solutions and implementing core architecture for SQL database platforms
- Deep understanding of relational and dimensional data models and metadata practices
- Deep understanding of data governance practices
- Understanding of secure data handling practices
- Cloud Experience is strongly desired, Azure preferred
- Experience with Azure Monitor is preferred
- Experience with Snowflake is preferred
- Experience with Comvault is preferred
- Experience with Redgate tools is a plus
- Experience with Azure DevOps is a plus
