Responsibilities
Oversight of Project Manager – Plumbing, Project Manager – Mechanical and All Team Members
- Leadership of all Roers Mechanical Team Members across Roers Companies’ operating regions
- Work closely with the Roers General Contracting Team in the assignment of project teams to execute new projects
- Instill the Roers Companies core values in each of the project teams
Operations Procedures
Build a high-performing Team from the ground upHelp develop, and become a “subject matter expert” in companywide Best PracticesMaintain profit / loss responsibility for the Company and promote job cost integrityProvide operational accountabilityResponsible to recognize areas of operational improvements through observation or from direct recommendations from the teamIdentify necessary changesEngage necessary internal team membersFacilitate discussions and develop an agreed upon action planImplement action plans and monitor required progressFollow up on the progress until actions are consistently being followedActively participate in company-wide initiatives to further key company goalsRoers Mechanical Internal Team Meetings
Ensure that monthly project update meetings are being conducted with the appropriate team membersLead weekly Roers Mechanical meetings. Set agendas, document discussions, and lead efforts to accomplish goals that are setParticipate and engage in Roers Mechanical Level 10 meetings and help to develop quarterly Rocks for the department and personnelLead bi-weekly Operations Workload and Workforce discussion meetingsConduct weekly one-on-one coaching and touch-base meetings with all direct reportsParticipate in internal Monthly Financial Projection and Project Update meetings with Senior Vice President of Construction, Controller, CFO, CEO, etc.Lead Department Update presentations at Monday Morning Meetings as requestedSchedule quarterly communication meetings with entire staff to discuss state of the companyField / Office Relations
Work closely with project management and field teams to promote / facilitate positive working relationshipsWork closely with Safety, Quality Control, General Superintendent, Project Executives, and Project Managers for their support of both field and office teamsSchedule and Workload
Boots on the Ground’ oversight across all Roers Mechanical operating regions (expected travel is 60%)Work closely with Project Executives and General Superintendent to track project assignmentsWork to determine staffing needs based on project forecastCoordinate recruitment efforts with Human Resources to solicit appropriate candidates.Coordinate involvement of team in interviews and hiring decisionsCoordinate with Human Resources offer letters to be sent to selected candidatesEvaluate and recommend optimum number of team members necessary to accommodate current / expected workloadsTraining and Development
Identify topics and set agendas for Monthly Operations MeetingsFacilitate Training classes by working with the overall team to develop yearly class topics and monitor participationMonitor on-boarding processes for new hires and work on continued development and implementation of this processEstablish annual performance goals for each direct report and ensure that goals are established for their direct reportsAssist in the establishment, and ensure compliance, of operational team quarterly and annuals goals align with overall company objectivesBudget Management
Establish annual budget goals to include G&A expenses as well as margin expectationsProvide quarterly updates on status of budget managementProvide action and recovery plans for projects out of budget complianceTravel Requirements
This position requires extensive travel, with an estimated 60% of work time spent away from the primary officeRequirements
Education :
BS Degree in Construction Management or related field preferredWork Experience :
15 years of project management experience preferred. Priority given to experience in Multi-family Housing Construction.Working knowledge and field experience in Plumbing & HVACWorking knowledge of building codes and ADA lawsA demonstrated understanding of multifamily construction means and methodsMicrosoft Office suite to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OutlookBenefits & Perks

147,000 - $197,300 eligibility for a 3-5% bonus determined by performance metrics
