Position Summary

The Biogas Technician is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the biogas generation system (lagoon cover) and biogas flare system across multiple farms in northern Missouri. This role involves maintaining process equipment, conducting performance testing, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot process equipment, including blowers, flares, instrumentation, and controls.
• Perform testing and analysis to monitor lagoon performance and optimize system efficiency.
• Assist and collaborate with other Biogas Technicians in daily operations.
• Safely travel between multiple farm locations to perform maintenance and inspections.
• Adhere to all process safety requirements, including wearing a full-face respirator for extended periods.
• Conduct general maintenance and upkeep of RAE operational facilities, including vegetation management and groundskeeping.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all locations.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a farm/processing facility setting.
• Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather conditions.
• Compliance with all safety standards, including required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  
  

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle, and reach.
• Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Sitting and driving a vehicle for up to 40% of the workday.
• Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. regularly and push/pull 50 lbs. or more.
• Capability to reach overhead from an elevated platform or uneven working surface.
• Standing/walking 50% of the time, sitting 40%, and climbing 10%.
• Must pass a physical and fit test for a full-face respirator and be able to wear it for 4-6 hours at a time.
  
  

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Trade school technical certification or training preferred.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to learn new skills and adapt to evolving work conditions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• Effective time management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
