Pipe Kitting Specialist

Starting Pay $21.50 - $23.75 based on skill level and experience, with annual opportunity for pay increase, bonus, and promotion based on performance.

POSITION SUMMARY :

Reporting to the Pipe Department Supervisor, this position maintains distribution of products by locating materials, pulling and verifying parts required for work orders and delivers materials to the designated work areas. This role requires careful attention to detail, regular vendor and customer interaction, and computer proficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording inventory location.

Computer skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs required. Must be able to learn and utilize Microsoft Office Suite as well as company specific software such as RoesTrac and Oracle.

Great organization skills and attention to detail are required. (Job specifications, material grade, tag numbers, heat numbers, etc.)

Verify, match, count, and kit material per customer drawings and specifications.

Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.

Report any discrepancies to team leadership.

Material handling duties and minor general maintenance.

Regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.

Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsible for area housekeeping.

Participate in the processes of continuous improvement including efforts to meet company smart goals.

Promote a positive working environment to achieve the organization’s goals.

Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere.   Exposure to harsh conditions—such as :   dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures.   Potential exposure to jobsites both domestically and internationally; living accommodations in some foreign assignments may not meet expected U.S. standards.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, lift, push, pull, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.   Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required.   Must be able to stand / walk 75% of the time and sit 25% of the time.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.

Ability to read blueprint drawings is required.

Forklift experience is required.
