A bakery/deli associate is responsible for assisting customers in the bakery and deli sections of a store. Their duties typically include:

• Customer Service: Greeting customers, taking orders, and providing assistance with product selection. They should be knowledgeable about the bakery and deli items offered, including ingredients and preparation methods.
• Food Preparation: Preparing bakery items such as bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts. In the deli section, they may slice meats, cheeses, and other deli products according to customer preferences and portion sizes.
• Food Handling: Ensuring that all food products are handled and stored safely and in accordance with food safety regulations. This includes maintaining proper temperatures for perishable items and following sanitation procedures.
• Stocking and Merchandising: Replenishing bakery and deli displays with fresh products throughout the day. They should also ensure that displays are well-organized and visually appealing to attract customers.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Keeping bakery and deli areas clean and organized, including equipment such as ovens, slicers, and display cases. This may involve tasks such as wiping down surfaces, washing dishes, and sweeping floors.
• Cashier Duties: Operating cash registers and processing customer transactions accurately. They should also handle any inquiries or concerns from customers regarding pricing, product availability, or returns.
