The Department of Media Design Communication at the Feinstein School of Humanities, Arts and Education (SHAE) at Roger Williams University invites applications for adjunct faculty to join our team of dedicated educators. The curriculum draws from a transdisciplinary liberal arts environment to provide educational experiences that prepare students to be lifelong learners, professionals, and global citizens.

The M D C faculty respect the complex role of adjunct professorships in Higher Education and welcome colleagues interested in supporting their own well-being and the well-being of their students within a collegial environment. We seek educators with demonstrated ability to support and promote diversity and inclusion, in both pedagogy and curricular development.

The primary responsibility of this faculty member will be to teach the undergraduate course in Writing for the Media, from a community-engaged, social justice perspective. There may also be opportunities to occasionally teach additional courses in Journalism or Public Relations.

Candidates with teaching experience at the undergraduate level who hold a Master's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline at the time of appointment, or an established record of professional achievement in writing for news or public relations are encouraged to apply. We welcome applications from candidates that represent non-traditional diverse practices, cultures, environments, and skills.

At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
